Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year.

A School Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 6:30 pm at the CVSD Intermediate School auditorium.  Members of the public are invited to attend in person. 

In two separate events, Chartiers Valley High School music and performing arts students shared their talents and inspiration with elementary students. 

Chartiers Valley High School senior Derek Ferrer was recently recognized for having qualified as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program for his exceptional academic promise.  

Students in grades 6, 8, 10, and 12 will take the Pennsylvania Youth Survey, or PAYS, next Friday, November 12.  The data gathered in this brief survey helps school and community leaders promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.

On Tuesday, November 2, around 3:00 pm, the District tested the parent and staff message system, in preparation for inclement winter weather. 

A School Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 6:30 pm at the Collier Township Municipal Building.  Members of the public are invited to attend in-person. 

The Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) announced Monday that it is teaming up with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to hold its inaugural league-wide food drive from Oct. 11-23. 

The October 12 School Board Meeting will be held at the Collier Township Municipal Building, 2418 Hilltop Rd, Presto, PA 15142.

Chartiers Valley Middle School eighth-graders Charlotte Kinslow, Tyler Maddix, and Violet Shields earned first place in the national Take a Shot at Changing the World Video Competition.

The Chartiers Valley School District Board of Education voted to extend Dr. Johannah Vanatta's contract during their meeting on July 6, retaining her as superintendent of schools through 2026.

If you have a student entering 3rd, 6th, 7th, 11th, or 12th grades in the fall of 2021, please be aware of the Pennsylvania Department of Health requirements regarding physical and dental exams and vaccinations.

Giant Eagle Pharmacy will host a student vaccine clinic at Chartiers Valley High School on Thursday, May 13, from 8 am until 10:30 am in the Auxillary Gym.

The Lady Colts basketball team made history with their 63rd straight game Monday, breaking the PIAA record for most consecutive wins in girls basketball history. 

Chartiers Valley High School is no stranger to DECA.  Over the past several years, CV students have competed at state and national levels, outperforming their peers from other schools and placing among the top young entrepreneurs and leaders in the country.

The District will continue to follow the guidance and orders mandated by the Governor regarding social distancing and subsequent closures. While this situation has created a lot of uncertainty, the safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff remains our utmost priority.

U.S. News and World Report released its 2020 high school rankings on Tuesday.

For the second consecutive year, CVSD has been selected as one of the nation's Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.  

The High School, in collaboration with the local Rotary has established its first ever Student of the Month Award, which recognizes students for who exhibit positive behavior, exceptional character.

The girls basketball team defeated Thomas Jefferson Wednesday night 65-43 in the WPIAL semi-finals.  The Colts will play Trinity in the WPIAL championship game this Saturday, February 29, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Petersen Event Center (University of Pittsburgh).  

A group of CVHS students traveled to Hershey, PA this week to compete in the annual DECA state championships. 

The Chartiers Valley School District invites senior citizens (ages 65+) to attend the opening night of its award-winning productions, free of charge with a CV Gold Card or valid ID!

Due to the snow day on February 7, 2020, a make-up day is scheduled for Monday, February 17, 2020.

Indoor track athlete Caleb Nelson is currently ranked 6th in the state for triple jump, and 14th in the state for the long jump.  

Four of Mr. McHugh's high school art students earned recognition from a prestigious art program.  

Sophomore Aislin Malcom was selected as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Athlete of the Week this week. 

The reigning state champion girls basketball team is gaining national recognition following their 9-0 start to the season.

At the recent District 2 DECA competition in December, twelve Chartiers Valley students ranked among the best in the area.    

Mr. McGalla's High School students welcomed Mrs. Territ's Primary School students into their lab recently to work on a special cross-District project.  

Chartiers Valley's generous students, staff, parents, and community members have been busy this month raising money and collecting donations to provide for various needs throughout the area.  

At Tuesday's meeting, five members of the school board were officially sworn-in following their recent re-election to the School Board of Directors. The board also recognized the winner and runners-up of the Annual District Holiday Card Contest. 

School board members past and present, architects, contractors, community leaders, school administrators, and members of the School Design Advisory Team gathered on Tuesday evening to commemorate Chartiers Valley's new Middle and High School buildings.  

Chartiers Valley High School student Aleena Usman was recently featured in a diversity/inclusivity campaign.  The clothing company's campaign was a collaboration with the Global Minds Initiative (GBI). 

Chartiers Valley students and staff spent this 11th day of the 11th month celebrating Veterans Day and honoring our local heroes.

Paving work on Thoms Run Road between Forsyth Road and Washington Pike will resume Friday, November 1, 2019.

Students are encouraged to participate in the 2nd Annual Holiday Card Contest. A district-wide winner will have their artwork printed on the CVSD holiday card, which is sent to hundreds of recipients.

During a recent board meeting, several members of the school directors and students were recognized for their accomplishments.

Chartiers Valley invites all area military veterans to attend the annual Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, November 11.

The revised comprehensive planning framework includes belief statements, a mission statement, objectives and strategies and action plans. The strategic planning process is built on focusing the district’s actions to fulfill the mission developed by the comprehensive planning team.

October is Fire Prevention Month. The National Fire Prevention Association's (NFPA) annual campaign works to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.

The Chartiers Valley School District Distinguished Alumni program recognizes alumni who have made outstanding contributions to society at the local, state, national and global levels. The program is based on three fundamental ideas.

Members of the varsity football team took time out of their day to visit students in the Primary School last month.  The visit, organized by football coach and Primary School teacher Mr. Fitzpatrick, is an effort to bring the District's oldest and youngest children together in one place. 

Beginning Friday, October 4, 2019 and ending Sunday, October 6, 2019, the roadway between the guard station and High School Door 9 will be closed while contractors complete road paving work. 

Chartiers Valley School District is honored to have been ranked as the number one school district in the Pittsburgh area by Pittsburgh Magazine. 

Please join us in welcoming new administrators to the Chartiers Valley leadership team. Throughout an extensive interview process for each of the three open positions, these individuals stood out as leaders who will certainly have a positive impact on our students, families, and staff.

Chartiers Valley is in the process of reviewing the math curriculum district wide, and we want to hear from parents, guardians, and family members of our students. Your responses will be used to evaluate our current math programming.

Our district cooperates with approved community partners by posting digital flyers online and distributing them electronically through our service provider, Peachjar.  As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, embrace innovative technology, and maintain fiscal responsibility, we have transitioned from paper to electronic flyer delivery.

Festivities kicked off Wednesday and will continue Friday evening as the Colts take on Baldwin and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime.

Chartiers Valley Theatre has been nominated for three Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater for the exceptional production of Sister Act. 

In light of the opening of our new Chartiers Valley High School building in January 2019, the theme and focus of this school year has been reflection and renewal.
